Before going for walks in the New Forest and other parts of the country it is essential that people invest in the correct walking boots, it has been claimed.
According to Which?, suitable hiking and walking boots are a necessity, with comfort, durability and performance three factors which members of the public must bear in mind.
“Whether you’re planning a hiking holiday or just going for a half-day ramble, it’s important to invest some time and money in finding the right walking boots,” the organisation states.
After testing 11 of the best-selling hiking boots on the market, Which? concluded that lightweight footwear fared well, with the Berghaus Explorer Lights earning the highest mark.
Overall, the Which? Test Lab discovered that walking boots costing under £100 performed the best, with the tests including ripping the soles off, wearing them down, flexing them on a revolving belt and dunking them in water.
Anna Barrington, writing for Little Trevarrack Holiday Park in Cornwall, said visitors to the area must remember their walking boots, as the region has some glorious walking routes to explore.
